Good Friday 2026

Our Undercover Boss! This Good Friday reflection explains why Christ had to die, using the 'undercover boss' metaphor—Jesus, the Creator, came to earth disguised, unrecognized. John notes, 'He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, yet the world did not know Him.' We see God's perfect standard, contrasted with Romans' reminder that all have sinned. The Old Testament's sacrificial system, like the scapegoat of Leviticus and Isaiah 53's suffering servant, pointed to the ultimate sacrifice. The crimson worm symbolizes Christ on the cross, whose sacrifice turned God's wrath into a safe zone. The curtain tearing signified God's removal of the barrier, transforming the story into one of triumph over darkness through the cross.
